About the Position

The Human Resources function is on an exciting new adventure. We are collectively coming together to shape, educate and equip our people to deliver a customer service ethos that will actively support our City’s community, customers and vision.

The People Business Partner engages with stakeholders to build leadership capability, employee-centric HR services and provide effective delivery of all HR initiatives and specialist advice.

This is a multi-faceted role, where no two days are alike. It is an exciting time to get on board with key projects underway focussing on the recruitment and onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the People Business Partner are varied:

  • Providing values-driven advice and guidance to managers on complex and sensitive people management matters, enabling managers to confidently deal with day to day employment issues and bring cases to resolution
  • Provide the leadership teams with coaching, advice and support across all areas of talent development, team engagement, leadership, change, organisational design, capability, development and organisational effectiveness
  • Support and undertake workplace investigations
  • Continuous Improvement and the streamlining of HR processes and systems
  • Manage all changes to terms and conditions of employment
  • Identify, propose and implement continuous improvement of business processes and practices
  • End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
  • Provide support to execute key HR projects

About You

The following experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role so please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Excellent core HR skills, including leadership, development, succession planning, remuneration, performance, employee relations, the legislation governing people in the workplace, and health and safety.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain key relationships and influence others at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and a proven ability to work collaboratively and foster effective strategic relationships with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to understand business acumen and provide a strategic approach to business need.
  • Strong customer service / people centric focus.

This temporary part-time position is a Level 9 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attract a salary between $123,000 to $130,000 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation. The position is a maximum term contract covering parental leave.
