Join iconic fashion house Aje as a People and Culture Business Partner, based at our Head Office in Redfern, on a 14 month fixed-term maternity leave contract.
About this opportunity:
- Collaborate with leaders across Aje Collective to align people strategies with business goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations to influence organisational design, workforce planning, and talent strategies.
- Partner with leadership to enhance team effectiveness, engagement, and culture.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues.
- Provide advice and coaching to managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Promote and maintain a positive workplace culture aligned with the company’s values.
- Partner with managers to identify learning and development needs and implement training initiatives.
- Support succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and creating development pathways.
- Work closely with the General Manager – People & Culture on strategic business projects
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the business.
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to create a seamless employee experience.
- Support and manage recruitment for vacant roles with partnering departments
- Use data and analytics to monitor key HR metrics and inform decision-making.
- Lead and support change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and employee engagement.
- Act as a change agent to embed new processes, technologies, and structures effectively.
- Work closely with the wider People & Culture team to implement company-wide initiatives and projects.
- Lead the end-to-end annual appraisal process
- Design, manage and deliver the annual Aje Engagement Survey, including data analysis and executive-level insights
- Manage the upload and submission of WGEA reporting requirements
- Build strong relationships with employees, acting as a trusted resource for HR-related queries and concerns.
- Facilitate communication between employees and leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment legislation in Australia.
- Proven experience in employee relations, talent management, and organisational design.
- Proficiency in HR systems and data analytics to drive insights and decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build rapport.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- A collaborative and empathetic approach to working with diverse teams.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist or business partnering HR role, preferably in retail or a fast-paced industry.
- Experience supporting leaders and teams across multiple locations is advantageous.
