About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a 12-month full time contract to cover parental leave in the Lismore Head Office, NSW 2480.

For the first three (3) months, you will report to the People & Culture Manager at Summerland Bank. From 01 July 2026, when Summerland Bank merges with Regional Australia Bank, you will join a larger People & Culture team and report into the People & Culture Team Lead. The role will continue to be based in Lismore.

The People & Culture Officer is a multi-faceted role providing support to the full range of Human Resource Management (HRM), including:

  • Recruitment
  • Onboarding
  • Learning and Development
  • Performance Management
  • Employee Safety and Wellbeing
  • Payroll
  • Fair Work Australia Principles
As an employer of choice, this role provides advice and direction to employees and managers maintaining excellence in the HR customer experience.

The People & Culture Officer is an energetic individual who can build strong relationships and rapport with both internal and external stakeholders. Respecting confidentiality, you engender trust enabling staff to be comfortable raising sensitive issues. You enjoy a fast paced, varied and diverse workload, adapting your responses to different customer needs with agility and sensitivity, ensuring people matter most at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Super-user of the HRIS (ELMO Software)
  • Generalist HR administration across the full cycle of HRM
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Administration of employment contracts/changes
  • Maintenance of the learning and development platform, including coordination of traineeships and incentives
  • Assist with coordination of performance processes
  • Rewards and Recognition process
  • Maintenance of Employee Surveys
  • Administration of Parental Leave
  • Inputting of Payroll administration and liaise regularly with Payroll Specialist
