People Experience Coordinator
  • Join our progressive innovative passionate team
  • Flexible working with WFH options

Based in Tāmaki Makaurau you will be integral to our People and Culture team gaining exposure across the whole generalist HR Space, including Employee Relations, onboarding, talent, systems and operations. If you are wishing to expand your exposure across all of HR and are an experienced HR Coordinator or strong administrator seeking an HR opportunity to join our close-knit team read on to find out more.

This position is the first point of contact for our kaimahi (staff), so you will be key in making sure their journey is the best it can be. We can guarantee you that no two days will be the same, one day you could be developing Employment Agreements, looking after the welcome info for our new staff and the next you could be helping plan for our staff Powhiri or being involved in one of the many projects. There are general admin duties such as variation letters, reporting, filing and management of the team meetings but the fact that no two days are alike makes this role really unique.

Exciting roles like this where variety is daily, working for a large national organisation do not come around often.

You will be encouraged to learn and grow, both as an individual and as a professional. You will live and breathe our Values: We are Real, Manaakitanga, We are Connected and We are Excellent,

This is a career opportunity in the tertiary education system - placing ākonga (learners) at the very center, ensuring equity for Māori and increasing access for all.

If you are someone who really wants to just "give anything and everything a go" and expand your HR career, then bring your initiative and make this role your own. You will have at least 2 years' experience in a HR Admin/coordinator position and be looking for that role whereby you can build on your toolbox of HR experience. You will need to work well in a team, be able to think on your feet, be a self-starter and most importantly want to make a difference for our kaimahi and ākonga (students).

In return we offer several benefits including MIT days, professional development, career development and a flexible working environment.

We are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of our ākonga and the rich cultures represented within the local community we serve. We know how important it is for our ākonga and kaimahi to have their culture and values reflected in our way of working and in the people we recruit.

It is an exciting time to be working in tertiary education with lots of change underway, if you are adaptable, responsive to change and keen to get involved in diverse mahi you will enjoy our culture.

Ahurea - Anga fakafonua - Culture

You will work with people that are passionate about the positive impact we make to the communities we serve. We offer a work environment which values genuine people who care for others, are well-connected, open and approachable and strive for excellence in all we do. We welcome and celebrate diversity and are committed to building a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

We are a team that enjoys a good laugh, a lot of character, and promote being our authentic selves at work. That said, we work exceptionally hard between the chuckles - but continuously gain positivity and energy from each other. This is your opportunity to join an empowering and high-trust team culture in an organisation that aspires to lead the change in tertiary education and model modern working practices.

"Kua herea mātou ki te whai i te tūturutanga o Te Tiriti O Waitangi." We are committed to creating and maintaining a culturally sensitive work environment in relation to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
