People Partner

A People Partner at Bayer plays a crucial role in the intersection of people, mindset, and technology. Their mission is to support individuals and organizations to achieve more.
This new role combines HR partnering support to two of our businesses in the Benelux region (Pharmaceuticals & Radiology) alongside flexibility to work with other business areas and projects meeting the needs of our people and business. The role is part of our Partnering Capability team and works in a community with likeminded professionals across the North Europe region.


The purpose of a People Partner is to focus on the people aspects of our organisation. A People Partner works closely with individuals (in Customer, Product and Enabling Teams), Leaders and teams. The People Partner understands the people-related needs of our organization and develops and executes initiatives to support employee experience, engagement, performance, and development.


TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The People Partner actively understands the people and business concerns and needs, interacting with business leads and employees at all levels, fostering secure and trustful relationships.
  • Fosters collaborative environments between leaders and employees.
  • Challenge and coach business leaders in ways of working, thinking and behaviour.
  • Understand business needs and collaborate with business leads and employees, other People Partners, HR Foundations and HR Experts etc to bring impact to the area / site.
  • Identify specific needs with Leaders and translate into operational activities, utilising the skills and capabilities of the HR ecosystem to deliver with impact.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the business from where activities can then be managed by the wider HR organisation.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in employment matters;
a. Support and manage labor relations/ negotiations for the area .
b. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues in conjunction with business leads.
c. Ensure high levels of engagement, co-determination with works councils and unions.
  • Support organisational changes and transformations (restructuring, mergers, acquisitions and divestments) providing and executing appropriate solutions to the business from the HR perspective. Establish retention measures following global guidelines where relevant.
  • Design and implement change management activation for local and global initiatives leaning into agile way of working and 90-day cycle rhythm, that may last more than one cycle.
  • Proactively maintain and understand internal trends (data insights) and external market dynamics to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Work on specific topics under area of expertise or responsibility (i.e. D&I, Labor Relations, Talent Impact etc) within/cross businesses, while cascading and maintaining initiatives across the region.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Preferably a university degree or equivalent experience, with the main focus on Human Resources.
  • You have 5-10 years of management experience within HR.
  • A People Partner needs to demonstrate a ‘T-shaped profile’, meaning a breadth of knowledge & experience on HR and industry, while having a deep knowledge in one or more areas of HR (eg Total Reward/ Operations/ Talent Management).
  • You will be working 1-2 times a week at one of the following locations; Hoofddorp, Maastricht and Diegem. For this we prefer someone who lives in the south of the Netherlands.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written), knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.
