Overview

Lucan Golf Club is seeking a passionate, motivated, and service-driven PGA Trainee/ PGA Assistant to join our professional team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a PGA trainee or qualified professional to develop within a busy members’ club with a vibrant playing and coaching culture.

The successful candidate will assist in all areas of professional services, with an emphasis on member engagement, coaching, retail operations, and competition management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality golf instruction to members and guests, including individual lessons, group clinics, and junior coaching programs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service within the Pro Shop, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Manage daily operations of the Pro Shop, including stock control, merchandising, and sales using the Xpos retail system.
  • Handle tee time bookings and member interaction using the BRS Golf system, ensuring smooth day-to-day play and time sheet management.
  • Assist in the planning, organisation, and running of member competitions and club events.
  • Support the Head Professional with club fittings, repairs, and equipment recommendations.
  • Foster strong relationships with members and promote a culture of participation and improvement.
  • Contribute to the overall presentation and operation of the golf facility, including practice areas and cart fleet.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and PGA training (if applicable).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PGA Qualified or currently enrolled in the PGA training programme.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with BRS Golf and Xpos systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A customer-first attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and peak golf season hours.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • A keen interest in retail, merchandising, and growing the club's coaching offering.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working in a members’ club environment.
  • Proven track record in coaching across all age groups.
  • Innovative approach to growing participation and improving member experience.
