Photography & Design Intern

Position Overview

Seeking a creative and motivated intern with a passion for photography and graphic design. The role will consist of working alongside the Marketing VP to photograph, edit, and prepare images of flooring for reproduction by third party agencies. Additionally, there will be first-hand experience utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Express, and graphic design work including, but not limited to, the production of email campaigns, print advertisements, and social media assets.

Primary Responsibilities

• Product Photography - Photograph wood flooring planks against green screen, assuring appropriate resolution, lighting, angle, and scale
• Image Editing - Edit and retouch product photography to assure accurate representation of character, color, and tone
• Agency Communication - Coordination with agencies, providing assets and feedback to ensure quality digital image recreation and adherence to timelines
• Graphic Design - Create email marketing materials, print advertisements, and social media assets that showcase our brand, messaging, and products effectively
• Asset Management - Organize and maintain our digital asset library
• Internal Resource - Become proficient in products and services, able to answer questions and coordinate with multiple departments
• Software & Tools - Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, sales and marketing tools such as Google Ads, Shopify, Mailchimp, Zapier, and Unbounce

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Photography, Graphic Design, or Visual Communications. Strong portfolio demonstrating photography and/or graphic design skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Express)
• Keen eye for detail, composition, and color
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of product photography is a plus but not required
• Willingness to learn and be receptive to feedback
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment (i.e. handling product and equipment)
