About the role
This is a unique opportunity to step in to a research physiotherapy clinician role, contributing to the multi-centre Strength training for Walking Improvement Following sTroke (SWIFT) Trial randomised controlled trial.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll play a key role in implementing the SWIFT trial at Eastern Health, ensuring safe, high quality and consistent delivery of the intervention. You'll be supported by experienced leaders, including Chief Investigator Professor Gavin Williams, and Allied Health Research Lead Professor Nick Taylor
About you
As a grade 2 research clinician physiotherapist, you'll bring high-level clinical expertise to deliver research intervention for people recovering from stroke across both home-based and centre-based settings. This role is ideal for a physiotherapist who is passionate about stroke rehabilitation, values evidence-based practice, and is keen to contribute to research that shapes future models of care.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- Advanced clinical skills and previous clinical experience in delivering stroke rehabilitation using a client-centred approach.
- High level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
- Victorian Drivers Licence
Desirable
- Interest in/prior experience in relevant research and/or quality activities
- Member, Australian Physiotherapy Association with current involvement in relevant special interest groups
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience working with neurological patients
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
