PIANO TEACHER - COMMENCING TERM 1, 2025

Focus Music is excited to announce a permanent part-time Piano Teacher position at our school.

The role ensures you can do what love (play and teach music!) with all the added benefits of having annual leave, sick leave, superannuation contributions and more.

We are a popular music school in the Perth Hills and lesson spots are already filling for Term 1, 2025...

Teaching Days: Monday to Friday (During the School Term)

Teaching Locations: After-school lessons run from 3:30pm-8:00pm and In-School lessons during the school day (i.e. 9am-3pm)

  • Kalamunda (During and After School hours)
  • Beaconsfield (During school hours)
  • Dayton (During school hours)

About the Role:

Your role will be to deliver 20, 30 and 60-minute private lessons. We specialise in teaching primary-school aged students however, we also have a number of high school and adult students as well.

We have a full-time administrative team to support teachers throughout the day to ensure you can simply come in and do your thing - teaching!

Our admin team covers everything from sourcing and enrolling new students, showing them to your classroom, billing, scheduling (and filling in any gaps), and providing plenty of tea and coffee to keep you running full steam ahead! Printing and photocopying is always available to teachers for use. We also have WiFi across the school.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a person who loves teaching, has a positive and enthusiastic personality, and has at least 1 year of teaching experience. Those who have completed or are currently studying music-related qualifications are encouraged to apply.

We work as a collaborative team of teachers and foster a supportive and inclusive work environment. We know every student is different, so we are always here to support each other in brainstorming strategies and activities to engage any student that you may need help with.

For our students, our goal is to create an environment which is fun, stimulating, and focused not only on developing the students' music skills, but developing social and cognitive skills that come from learning an instrument; building strong relationships and making meaningful connections with each student we teach.

Pay Rates:

  • $36 per hour [plus superannuation]

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 1 years teaching experience
  • Current Working With Children Card
  • Tertiary Qualification (or studying) in Music or related field
  • Your own transport (car)
  • Your own teaching resources
