Pipe Layer / Civil Utility Installer

Position Overview

We’re looking for experienced Pipe Layers to install water, storm, and sanitary systems on subdivision and municipal projects. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of grades, bedding, and pipe alignment, and works well with operators and labourers in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Install PVC, HDPE, and concrete pipe to grade per plans and specifications
• Set up and align manholes, catch basins, and fittings
• Check grade using laser or level rod
• Direct excavator operators during trenching and backfilling
• Ensure trench safety, shoring, and WorkSafeBC compliance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• 3+ years of pipe-laying experience in civil construction or municipal infrastructure
• Strong understanding of grades, elevations, and trench safety
• Ability to read plans and interpret line and grade stakes
• Reliable and safety-focused attitude
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and transportation to site

Compensation & Benefits

• $25–$38/hr, based on experience and capability
