EIT Urban Mobility Master School is an international joint programme supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The programme consortium currently includes eight European universities. Aalto University will function as the administrative coordinator starting from the academic year 2026–2027. The programme’s administrative hub, the Master School Office, serves the entire consortium and its students, and reports on its tasks to the EIT Urban Mobility. At Aalto University, the Master School Office is located at the Learning Services of the School of Engineering, in the International Joint Programmes team.

Are you interested in a versatile Communications Specialist role at the busy interface of study administration? Are you ready to take on the challenge of building global visibility and a complete applicant journey for an international master’s programme from the ground up?

We are now recruiting a Planning Officer for the EIT Urban Mobility Master School Office, focusing on student marketing and recruitment. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and developing marketing and student recruitment in close collaboration with the European consortium, Aalto’s Learning Services, and Aalto Communications Services. You will build the EIT Urban Mobility Master School’s global visibility and applicant journey end-to-end—from ideation to campaigns and analytics. Your primary goal is to increase the number of students in the EIT Urban Mobility Master School without compromising on quality. The position is fixed-term starting at latest 1 September 2026 and ending 31 October 2028, based on the current duration of the EIT Urban Mobility Master School consortium agreement. The job contract may be extended if the consortium agreement continues.

Your tasks will include, for example:
  • Preparing a marketing plan and coordinating marketing measures in collaboration with EIT Urban Mobility’s communications team
  • Planning and designing marketing materials
  • Tracking applicant leads
  • Coordinating student ambassador activities
  • Maintaining visibility and updating information in education portals
  • Planning and executing applicant newsletters and webinars
  • Producing and maintaining content for the EIT Urban Mobility Master School website and social media accounts
  • Planning and running social media marketing campaigns
  • Collaborating with scholarship foundations and education agents
  • Collaborating with programme alumni
  • Monitoring applicant numbers, analysing the effectiveness of marketing measures, and developing actions accordingly

You will report on your activities to EIT Urban Mobility and, on HR matters, to your line manager in the International Joint Programmes team. You will work closely both within the EIT Urban Mobility Master School’s European network and in your home base in the School of Engineering’s Learning Services. You will also collaborate with Aalto University Communications Services. At peak times, you will support your Master School Office colleagues, for example in student admissions and organising events. In addition to EIT Urban Mobility tasks, the role includes duties related to other international joint programmes at the School of Engineering.

What we expect from you

  • A relevant higher education degree, for example in communications or marketing, and motivation to work in international educational cooperation
  • Native or close-to-native English with diplomatic tone; Finnish is considered an asset. Ability to address potential applicants and produce fluent marketing content for different channels.
  • Familiarity with universities as operating environment and understanding of global student markets and the factors that influence study choices
  • A determined, proactive approach toward shared goals
  • Ability to strengthen the EIT Urban Mobility Master School brand with the support of the participating universities’ brands—and vice versa
  • Ability to collaborate and network across multiple distributed organizations with agility, while being a close team player with immediate colleagues
  • Experience using CRM tools for lead tracking, running social media marketing campaigns, and search engine marketing

In addition, for smooth performance in the role, we consider it an advantage if you have experience with marketing channels in certain target countries or regions (e.g., North America, Latin America, Europe, China) and experience in communications or other tasks in the programme’s fields (engineering, transport engineering, urban planning).
We expect that you currently reside in Finland and are able to work mostly on site in Otaniemi, at least in the beginning. Working from abroad is not possible.

What we offer

  • a unique opportunity within Aalto University to carry out comprehensive student marketing and recruitment for a single master’s program
  • The chance to see the fruits of your work by meeting the students you recruited and maintaining relationships with them after graduation
  • A central role in the EIT Urban Mobility Master School’s European collaboration network
  • Broad exposure to Aalto University’s operations and an opportunity to develop collaboration between service functions
  • A community where we advance societally significant goals in science and education

Your workplace will be at Aalto University’s main campus in Otaniemi, which has good services and excellent transport connections. Partial remote work is possible (up to 60%), and working hours are flexible. However, in the initial phase we hope the whole team can be present on site as much as possible. You will join a brand-new mini-team that will provide onboarding and close support for your duties. We encourage competence development and offer you the possibility to grow into a higher education all-rounder. The role requires some travel (e.g., consortium meetings 1–2 times per year, student marketing events, partner meetings).

The position is placed at demanding level 9 in the Finnish universities’ salary system in use at Aalto University (salary range 3700–4200€, depending on experience).
