Introduction:
Join Liberty Industrial: Setting the Standard in Demolition and Remediation

At Liberty Industrial, we deliver some of the most complex demolition, decommissioning and remediation projects across Australia and internationally. Our success is built on technical expertise, innovative thinking and a team of people committed to delivering exceptional project outcomes.

We are looking for an experienced Planner to join our Project Controls function in Perth and support the successful delivery of our projects across Western Australia.

Description:
The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced Planner to take a key role in project planning and controls, supporting Project Managers and project teams through planning, forecasting, resource optimisation, schedule risk management and performance analysis.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex Primavera P6 schedules, managing project baselines and analysing schedule performance to provide meaningful insights that support project decision-making.

This role goes beyond maintaining project schedules. We are looking for someone who can interpret project performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions and work collaboratively with project teams to improve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Establish and maintain project baselines, contract programs, internal target programs and forecasting schedules.
  • Undertake critical path, schedule variance and trend analysis to identify risks, constraints and opportunities.
  • Monitor project performance against approved baselines and provide meaningful insights to Project Managers and project teams.
  • Support forecasting, resource planning and optimisation across multiple projects.
  • Develop and assess schedule recovery strategies where projects deviate from plan.
  • Prepare project controls reporting including S-curves, progress measurement, schedule narratives, variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and Commercial teams to ensure planning assumptions reflect project execution.
  • Challenge planning assumptions and proactively identify schedule and delivery risks.
  • Support delay analysis, extension of time assessments and other schedule-related commercial requirements where required.
  • Contribute to tender planning, methodology development and schedule preparation for future project opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, reporting and project controls practices across the business.
Skills and Experiences:
Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a Planner or Project Controls role within construction, mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, demolition, decommissioning or other major project environments.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 capability, including schedule development, resource loading, baseline management and critical path analysis.
  • Strong project controls capability including forecasting, progress measurement, S-curves, variance analysis and recovery planning.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects or complex project environments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with project performance data.
  • Ability to interpret project documentation, scopes of work, construction methodologies and project sequencing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and identify planning risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex schedule information into practical advice for project teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively across multiple project teams.
Experience with Power BI, Power Query or reporting automation tools will be highly regarded, as will exposure to contract administration, delay analysis and extension of time assessments.

Experience working in remote, brownfield, shutdown or decommissioning environments will also be advantageous.

Why Choose Liberty Industrial?

  • Permanent, full-time Perth-based opportunity.
  • Support the delivery of complex demolition, decommissioning and remediation projects across Western Australia.
  • Play an influential role within our growing Project Controls function.
  • Work directly with Project Managers and operational teams to influence project performance and outcomes.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • Collaborative environment where your expertise and insights are valued.
  • Be part of an industry-leading organisation committed to safety, innovation and sustainability.
As part of our recruitment process, Liberty Industrial conducts relevant pre-employment checks, including medical and Federal Police checks, to ensure candidates meet the requirements of the role and our projects.

Join Our Team

Liberty Industrial is committed to diversity and strongly encourages applications from women and Indigenous Australians.

If you believe your skills and experience align with this opportunity, we encourage you to apply. Even if you don't meet every requirement listed, we'd still like to hear from you if you feel you can make a valuable contribution to our team.
