Your role
As a Planning Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining technical drawings and documentation related to facilities and building technologies, as well as developing and improving documentation processes. Your role includes layout and process design, and participation in construction projects by collecting and processing primary data and defining technical requirements to support design work.
You will work closely with our facility management experts, internal stakeholders and external partners across various building technology fields.
In this role, you will gain an excellent understanding of the entire lifecycle of pharmaceutical production, from product development to manufacturing. Currently, we are investing heavily in the development of both maintenance and project activities.
Your primary workplace is in Turku, but if necessary, you will also support facility management operations at other Orion locations as agreed.

What are we looking for?
- Good understanding of planning processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Relevant educational background (e.g. BSc or MSc)
- Eagerness to learn and adopt current and future digital tools and working methods (e.g. VR, AR, 3D platforms)
- The working language is Finnish, so good spoken and written Finnish language skills are an absolute prerequisite
- Fluent English (spoken and written) Knowledge of building technology systems is considered an advantage, but is not a requirement
You have good interaction and collaboration skills, a proactive approach to work, and a willingness to learn new things. A development-oriented mindset, problem-solving skills, and commitment to agreed ways of working are also important.
You are self-motivated, proactive, and approachable. You set clear goals, know how to ask for help when needed, and can coordinate the swift resolution of problem situations.

Your new team
Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.
In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.
The Facility Management organization is part of Global Operations and consists of a team of 60 professionals. Orion Facility Management is responsible for the acquisition, operation, and maintenance of Orion Oyj’s buildings and facilities, including technical building systems, as well as security and energy efficiency.
