NEYRA Industries is a family-owned company built on a foundation of quality and integrity. We have over 50 years of experience and innovation in the pavement maintenance and athletic surface industry. We are currently looking for a Plant & Maintenance Assistant Manager to join our team.

The Plant & Maintenance Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day administration and operations of the plant including training, production, continuous improvement as well as equipment and facility maintenance.

I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the plant manager with directing and coordinating activities at a specific manufacturing plant, including but not limited to, processing materials and manufacturing products, shipping and receiving raw materials and finished products, customer service, processing sales orders, maintaining equipment, performing duties to ensure plant security and managing the traffic of all inbound and outbound freight.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists on reviewing customer orders and schedules to determine production schedules such as types, quantities and specification of products and scheduled delivery dates.
  • Assists in planning production operations and reviewing reports, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products and resolving any operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Examines, tests, and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specifications and records data on appropriate forms. Checks product for visual defects and enters daily batch sheets.
  • Assists in reviewing, analyzing and controlling plant costs that are within specific plant control.
  • Assists in planning raw material orders so that the right materials are at the right place in sufficient quantity to meet customer delivery requirements while maintaining company purchasing policies.
  • Assists in processing customer orders, generating paperwork necessary and bill of ladings ensuring that orders are entered in the point-of-sales system correctly and sent to accounting for timely invoicing.
  • Assists in dispatching freight lines for inbound and outbound shipments and ensuring freight companies deliver on schedule in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintains positive and professional customer relations with current customers, potential customers and vendors.
  • Coordinates with the sales and marketing departments to fulfill any requests from customers for literature, specifications and other product or service information.
  • Assists in logging all transactions pertaining to inventory, receivers, returns, purchase orders, and in house records and maintains all files for production, accounting, customers, vendors and reports.
  • Assists in reviewing of invoices of inbound items for plant manager approval.
  • Manages plant maintenance activities. Develops and implements preventive maintenance procedures and frequency schedules. Hands-on mechanical maintenance including, but not limited to hydraulics, compressors, boilers, etc.
  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action using good reasoning skills. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
  • Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
  • Assists in developing or revising standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Consults with plant manager regarding potential modifications and additions of equipment in order to improve production, meet specific customer requirements and quality of products along with assisting in preparing plant expense and capital budgets.
  • Assists in executing and documenting the plant safety program including conducting plant safety meetings and rectifying safety defects.
  • Operates lift truck, hand pallet jacks, hand/automatic wrapping machine, skid loaders, scales, levels, miscellaneous power bench tools, wrenches, carpentry tools, etc. in a safe manner and conducts basic welding projects.
  • Participates in plant manager conference calls and meetings when necessary.
  • Maintains a level of confidentiality with corporate, managerial and personnel information as required.
  • Assists in the training of new hired personnel.
  • Will accept the Plant Manager responsibilities and duties while the Plant Manager is out of the office.
  • Maintains full knowledge of all of all Neyra products and raw materials and knows where each item is located.
  • Performs all jobs in a safe, but efficient manner within all company, state and federal regulations.

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Welding experience – not mandatory, but a plus.

IV. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl and climb ladders as well as stairs and other equipment. Required to stand and walk. Maximum unassisted lift=50lbs. Required to communicate with others.

V. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Inside average factory building – not uniformly heated or air-conditioned. Exposed to dust, oil, grime, smoke, fumes and industrial lubricants. Noise level moderate. Exposed to grinding and welding debris. Required to abide by all OSHAA regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
