Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will oversee daily plant activities, ensure production efficiency, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in abattoir processes, whole animal butchery, and a focus on continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and supporting the company's growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, safety, and maintenance
- Develop and implement process improvements utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies
- Manage supply chain activities to ensure timely procurement and inventory management.
- Utilize MRP systems to plan production schedules, optimize resource allocation, and reduce waste
- Lead cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and meet production targets
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations(WHMIS, HCAAP, CFIA) and company policies
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability among staff
- Collaborate with engineering teams on process optimization and assembly line improvements
- Maintain effective communication with upper management regarding operational performance and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Proven experience in abattoir management or plant leadership roles
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
- Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
- Background in quality control, assembly processes, and safety protocols within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive organizational change
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
