Play Worker

Job Summary
The Play Worker is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children in a play setting. This role involves supervising and supporting children's play activities, fostering their development through creative and educational experiences. The Play Worker will work closely with children to encourage their social skills, emotional growth, and overall well-being.

Duties

  • Supervise children during playtime to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
  • Manage behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
  • Provide childcare support by attending to the needs of children, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean and organised play environment that is conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive approach to child development.
  • Drive initiatives that encourage leadership skills among older children through group activities.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and adults alike.
  • Ability to manage groups of children with varying needs and behaviours.
  • Experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
  • Leadership qualities to inspire and guide children during activities.
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is advantageous.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
