Job Summary:

The Plumbing Tractor Operator is a key role at Milam Plumbing, Inc., a top provider of new home construction plumbing services in Southeastern North Carolina. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating excavation equipment to layout and dig slabs for plumbing installations in residential projects. The Tractor Operator will work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure accurate site preparation, safe trenching for water and sewer lines, and timely project completion, all while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Operate tractors and excavation equipment safely and efficiently.

· Layout and dig slabs for plumbing installation in new construction homes.

· Assist with trenching water, sewer, and utility lines.

· Read and follow site plans, layouts, and supervisor instructions.

· Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.

· Maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proven experience operating tractors and excavation equipment.

· Experience in new construction plumbing layout and slab work required.

· Ability to read site plans and work independently with minimal supervision.

· Strong understanding of job site safety practices.

· Dependable, team-oriented, and detail-focused.

Education and Experience:

· Entry level understanding of plumbing systems, materials and equipment

· High School diploma

· Entry level experience as a plumbers helper/apprentice

· Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work in a construction environment

· Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 100 pounds

· Ability to work outside or inside, sometimes exposed to high heat or low temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
