- Experience the East and West Coasts of Aotearoa New Zealand within a short drive, and hike in the Hunua or Waitakere Ranges on your days off
- Gain exposure to all required ICM training specialities and sub-specialties, with opportunities for allocations for your medical and anaesthesia time
o Experience with thoracic and all solid organ transplants
o Auckland has the only specialised PICU in Aotearoa NZ
o We have a collaborative relationship with units in other centres able to provide rural ICU training time as well as other specialty experience (such as anaesthesia); particularly Whangarei in sunny Northland
- Rotation through different ICUs in different Auckland regions
o Experience a wide range of diverse presentations across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s broad patient demographics
- Training and education
o Regional ICM weekly teaching program
o Part II written and clinical preparation programs and support
o Regional ICM community presentation sessions – with trainee presentations, Intensivist presentations, followed by social activities
- Support with a Regional Mentoring Program

Eligibility and how to apply:
- Preferred experience: At least 2 years’ postgraduate clinical experience. Acute care, anaesthesia, or intensive care experience desirable but not essential.
- Eligibility for general scope registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
