Your future responsibilities
This opportunity is a temporary position with an expected duration of 3 years, aligned with the timeframe of the pilot line project. Continuation in a permanent role may be considered thereafter, subject to strong performance and future funding opportunities.
The responsibilities for this role include:
- Experimental work in the Applied Quantum Sensing team
- Design, develop, and test optical, electronic, magnetic, and microwave solutions for quantum systems-on-chip.
- Drive the development and exploration of novel quantum control protocols and implement software and hardware solutions.
- Independent management and successful execution of research projects
- Occassional project acquisition
Your profile
- PhD in solid-state physics, NMR, quantum technologies, optics, spectroscopy, or a related field
- More than 3 years of research experience in the relevant area
- Passion for physics, curiosity, and an open mindset
- Strong experimental skills and enthusiasm for hands-on lab work
- Programming, engineering, and prototyping skills are a plus
- Interest in applied research and solving industrial relevant challenges
- Autonomous, with self-initiative, well organized and enjoying working in a dynamic and multicultural team
- Professional communication skills in English, command of German language is a plus
- Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria

- 1st Interviews begin in August/September, followed by a short technical task (two weeks deadline) for shortlisted candidates.
- After positive assessment, final candidates will be invited to a second round to present their solution in October.
