We are currently looking for a proactive and passionate Pouwhirinaki – Te Tohu Reo Rumaki to join us. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Lower Hutt.

The primary role of the Pouwhirinaki – Te Tohu Reo Rumaki is to coordinate, implement, and support the delivery of Te Tohu Reo Rumaki programme. Te Tohu Reo Rumaki is an innovative, full-time, full year programme of week-day classes. This position will assist Kaiako and tauira through the delivery of the programme, stepping in to present material when needed, supporting the management and marking of aromatawai, ensuring consistent learning experiences across different cohorts, and supporting engagement with the learning management system.


Mōu | About you

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and passionate about supporting immersive language learning, ensuring smooth delivery and consistency for all involved.

You will also bring with you:

  • Diploma Level 6 in te reo Māori and/or ideally working towards a higher level reo qualification
  • Ideally hold a Diploma in Adult Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
  • Full drivers’ licence
  • 2+ years’ experience teaching full immersion te reo Māori
  • 2+ years’ experience teaching high contact hours of immersive language learning
