Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Practice Manager for Primary Health Care to lead the operations of the Nhulunbuy/Gunyangara Primary Health Clinic. This role involves overseeing clinic operations, identifying and addressing gaps and risks in both operational and clinical services, and implementing effective strategies. The Practice Manager will work closely with the Director of Nursing & Midwifery to advance strategic goals, implement contemporary care models, drive continuous quality improvement initiatives, and focus on change management, service integration, and achieving Medicare revenue targets.
- A competitive base salary of $131,739 - $137,268 (RN5) per annum
- A competitive base salary of $127,512 - $133,656 (HP5) per annum
- 11.5% Superannuation
- Subsidised Accommodation
- Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings and understanding of the issues faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings; Demonstrated ability to provide effective high-level leadership, management and organisational skills including a high level of comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure effective clinical program and revenue management; Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Nurse/Practice Manager and in a similar role with a similar community population demographic and service profile.
