Compensation: $22.00–$27.00/hour (40 hours/week)

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our Pre-Casa (Toddler) classroom (15 months to 3 years). This role is essential in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where toddlers can explore, grow, and thrive. You’ll work closely with a co-educator to deliver meaningful experiences that support early development and set a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support toddlers’ social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Create a warm and welcoming classroom environment that encourages independence, exploration, and self-expression.
  • Diapering and toileting support in a hygienic and respectful manner as part of daily care routines.
  • Observe, assess, and document each child's development and milestones, sharing insights with families.
  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and co-teachers to build a collaborative community.
  • Balance classroom engagement with necessary administrative and documentation tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space, ensuring all materials are developmentally appropriate.
  • Participate in team planning, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • RECE designation and current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE required).
  • Experience in toddler care in a childcare or educational setting (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate programming.
  • Montessori experience or training is an asset.
  • Excellent time management, observational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear documentation and reports for internal use and parent communication.
  • Bilingualism (especially in French) is a plus.
  • Up-to-date Standard First Aid & CPR, Vulnerable Sector Check, and immunization records, including 2-Step TB test.
