For over 15 years, Studio 55 has been the heart of Hillsdale County’s dance community. We are seeking a motivated, passionate Pre-Professional Assistant Artistic Director to support our company program and artistic leadership. This role is ideal for someone who loves mentoring dancers, creating meaningful choreography, and contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused studio environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Choreograph multiple routines for a variety of ages and levels throughout the season
  • Teach weekly company classes with a focus on technique, artistry, performance quality, and growth
  • Assist in setting and maintaining the artistic vision and standards of our company program
  • Travel with dancers to competitions and conventions, supporting students on and off stage
  • Assist with scheduling, rehearsals, and seasonal planning
  • Support parent communication alongside studio leadership in a clear, professional, and timely manner
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership to ensure consistency, organization, and alignment across programs
  • Support performances, special events, auditions, and company-related activities as needed

Schedule & Commitment:

  • Weekday evenings (typically starting at 4:00 PM or later)
  • Weekends for competitions, rehearsals, and events
  • Season runs September 2026 – mid-May 2027
  • Opportunities for summer choreography, camps, and additional hours
  • Long-term commitment required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in dance training and performance
  • Experience in choreographing group routines for multiple ages and levels
  • Experience teaching competitive or pre-professional dancers
  • Ability to lead with confidence while remaining supportive and approachable
  • Interest in growing into higher artistic leadership responsibilities
