Pre-School Assistant

Overview

Due to our increasing numbers in our Preschool provision, we are seeking a Preschool Assistant to join our early childhood education team from February 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and early childhood education, with the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners.

Duties

• Help develop and implement engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs of preschool children.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to promote a positive educational experience.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain discipline while promoting respect and cooperation among students.
• Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents on their development.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance the overall educational programme.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting.

Requirements

• A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience in childcare settings is essential.
• Proven experience working with children in a nursery or preschool environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and contributing positively to their educational journey.

You must be able to drive as our nursery is situated in the village of Waverton as is not on a direct bus route.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 27.5 – 37.5 per week
