Cook – From-Scratch Specialty Catering
The Opportunity:
Are you a cook who actually cares about the food? We are a small, social, and highly collaborative catering team specializing in from-scratch, specialty cuisine. If you’re tired of "thaw and serve" kitchens, this is your chance to get hands-on experience with classical Italian, French, and Mediterranean techniques and more in a lively and safe environment.
The Logistics (Please Read Carefully):
- Location: North Hanmer
- Schedule: Includes weekdays during the day, weekends, evenings and holidays as well as some 6 - 7 AM start times on weekends.
- Commute: Our kitchen is located in North Hanmer. Due to our early start times and the limitations of local transit from areas like the South End, Copper Cliff, or Chelmsford, reliable personal transportation is highly recommended.
What You’ll Do:
As a Prep & Catering Cook, you are the backbone of our kitchen. You’ll work closely with our Chef to ensure every event is a success.
- Prep: Clean, cut, and prepare produce and meats with precision. Pre-cook items, including sauteing, blanching, baking (pastry) & sauce making.
- Execute: Assist the Chef in preparing and finishing dishes both in-house and on-site at venues.
- Logistics: Package food safely for transport and assist in setting up professional buffet displays.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a "clean as you go" workflow to keep our kitchen safe and efficient.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long shifts and lift up to 40 lbs safely.

Required Skills & Training:
- Basic kitchen knowledge.
- Safe food handling (HACCP, Food Handlers, etc.)
- Ability to be on feet for most of shift.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely.

- Formal Culinary Education.

Licence/Certification:
