Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 2

Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies, has an immediate requirement for a Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 2 at our Sudbury location. The service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available, as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete cleaning, washing and routine maintenance of construction equipment;
• Complete quality assurance inspections on equipment;
• Testing and operation of construction equipment, including, but not limited to, assessment of damages;
• Perform annual inspections on select rental equipment;
• Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment, including, but not limited to, maintaining and servicing rental equipment, making minor repairs and adjustments on equipment, oil and filter changes;
• Assist and guide Level 1 Preventative Maintenance Technicians;
• Complete required documentation and data entry;
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area, shop and branch;
• Load and unload customer rental equipment when required;
• Maintain a safe working environment;
• Assisting other technicians as needed;
• Follow all Health and Safety policies, while maintaining as safe work environment;
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

• Previous experience in a related field, and knowledge of construction equipment and building products;
• A self-starter, with a keen sense of time-management and effective planning skills;
• Good communication and people skills.
• Forklift operation experience;
• Knowledge of construction equipment and mechanics;
• Technical aptitude and organization skills are preferred.
