About your team:
We’re the pride of Ireland. Bord Gáis Energy have been powering the nation’s homes and businesses for almost 40 years. But now, we’re so much more than just gas and electric. Through our unique combination of household heroes and energy assets, we’re at the heart of the energy transition in Ireland, strengthening the country’s energy security and helping customers get ready for a net zero future.
As a Pricing and Forecasting Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely pricing and consumption forecasts for gas and electricity customers. You’ll evaluate all relevant costs and risks to produce customer-specific quotations and mass-market tariffs, enabling the sales team to execute market strategies effectively.
In addition, you will forecast weekly consumption for existing customers and ensure smooth data flow throughout the end-to-end process to protect margins and support informed business decisions.
If you are an analytical, detail-oriented problem solver with commercial experience and a passion for turning data into actionable insights, this is the opportunity for you!
Location: This role can be based in either Cork or Dublin, working from our office on a hybrid basis.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare accurate, transparent pricing offers and cost-reflective tariffs for all markets.
- Ensure smooth tariff integration into billing systems.
- Produce insightful reports on costs, revenue, and margins for leadership.
- Maintain and validate demand forecasts for gas and electricity.
- Act as a control point for quotations and forecasting, ensuring proper authorisations.
- Support hedging strategies to manage risk and profitability.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
- Enhance reporting tools and dashboards for data-driven decision-making.
- Implement changes driven by market or regulatory developments.
- Lead and participate in projects to improve processes and achieve business objectives.
Here’s Who We’re Looking For:
- Commercial Experience: Proven background in a pricing or finance role with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excels skills; experience with SQL and Power BI is also desirable.
- Analytical Ability: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for engaging senior stakeholders and customers.
- Collaboration: Ability to build effective relationships across all levels.
- Ownership & Initiative: Self-motivated, solution-focused, and able to work independently.
- Time Management: Skilled at prioritising and delivering under tight deadlines.
- Desirable: Knowledge of energy markets and retail products.
