About the role
Are you passionate about creating meaningful reward experiences for employees? We’re looking for a Principal Advisor – Remuneration & Benefits to join our team in Perth or Brisbane, where you’ll play a key role in delivering remuneration and benefits solutions that support our people and business strategy across the Asia-Pacific region.
This is a fantastic opportunity to influence how Rio Tinto designs and delivers reward programs that are fair, market-aligned, and future-focused. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across HR and the business to ensure our remuneration practices are competitive, compliant, and clearly understood.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Manager, Remuneration Strategy and Solutions APAC, you will:
Deliver and maintain remuneration and benefits programs across multiple APAC countries.
Provide expert advice and technical support to HR and business leaders on reward-related matters.
Lead the annual benchmarking and job evaluation processes to ensure market competitiveness.
Manage regional and global reward projects, including incentive design and benefits integration.
Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and innovation.
Collaborate with global Reward and HR teams to ensure consistency and alignment.
Build strong networks to share insights and stay ahead of industry developments.
What you’ll bring

Hands-on experience with benchmarking, job evaluation, incentive design, and career frameworks.
Knowledge of market practices across Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, and broader APAC.
Confidence in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
A track record of delivering impactful projects in dynamic environments.
Flexibility to work across time zones and collaborate with global teams.
Solid understanding of HR principles and relevant legislation.
Familiarity with HRIS and performance management platforms.
