v Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in handling prior authorization for physician or hospital billing. This role requires a deep understanding of the medical insurance process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze patient medical records in line with insurance company medical necessity criteria to secure approval for non-invasive procedures.
v Key Responsibilities:
· Review and process prior authorization requests for non-invasive medical procedures based on insurance company guidelines and medical necessity criteria.
· Analyze and interpret patient medical records to ensure they meet the required criteria for insurance approval.
· Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain approval for procedures.
· Ensure accurate and timely submission of authorization requests.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical procedures, insurance policies, and industry standards.
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives to resolve any issues related to prior authorization.
· Follow up on pending authorizations and escalate complex cases to the supervisor as needed.
· Document all communication and actions taken in the system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
v Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in handling prior authorization for physician or hospital billing.
v Knowledge:
· Strong understanding of the Human Anatomy and medical terminology.
· In-depth knowledge of reading and interpreting patient medical records to understand insurance medical necessity criteria.
· Familiarity with insurance companies’ criteria for non-invasive procedures is a plus.
v Skills:
· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
· Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to assess patient records and make sound decisions.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and prior authorization software/tools.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
v Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge of medical billing and coding (CPT, ICD-10, etc.) is a plus.
Experience with medical insurance policies and the prior authorization process for non-invasive procedures
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
