A role where you make a real impact:
- Take responsibility for planning, executing, managing, and reporting of process development experiments and projects
- Participate in technology transfer, start-up, and plant optimizations in Finland and abroad
- Act as a proactive team member in global development projects both in pilot and plant scale
- Schedule and organize day-to-day pilot and laboratory work for development projects
- Supervise pilot plant and laboratory personnel in project setting
- Ensure continuous improvement in safety culture and day-to-day operations
Requirements for the role:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or in Chemical Engineering.
- Expertise in organic and polymer chemistry, including synthesis, characterization, and functional modification of polymers and particulate materials
- Proficient in mentoring also others in organic chemistry methodologies Excellent attitude towards Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)
- Team player mentality and high respect for people
- Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and continuous learning attitude
- Ability and willingness to work hands-on in pilot plant and plant environment
- Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills both in Finnish and in English
- Good IT skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP)
- Willingness for occasional travelling
Considered as an advantage:
- Practical experience in polymer chemistry, in synthesis, analysis and modification of polymers and particles
- A few years of relevant work experience in bioprocess, chemical and/or pulp & paper industry
- Experience of external R&D collaborations and/or custom manufacturing operations
- Industrial experience in cellulose modification technologies and/or in polymerization
