About the opportunity
As the Process Improvement Specialist - Technical Writer, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of StarTrack’s operational excellence initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Operational Compliance, you’ll drive the development and maintenance of high-quality documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and operational procedures. This role is crucial in supporting continuous improvement programs, streamlining processes, and enhancing the capability of our teams.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Create and maintain technical documentation: Develop business process maps, operational procedures, and technical documentation using tools like Signavio/Visio and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ensure compliance and standards: Help ensure Network Operations meet Internal Control Check (ICC) and ISO certification requirements.
- Lead technical writing improvements: Establish documentation standards, templates, and processes across the team.
- Support extended workforce: Develop governance frameworks for contractors and external vendors, driving efficiency and consistency.
About you
You are an experienced technical writer with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex processes into clear, actionable documentation. You’re proactive, organized, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, matrix environment. You thrive in collaborative settings, building strong relationships across teams, and guiding others on best practices.
You’ll also need
- Experience in technical writing and business process mapping, with a proficiency in tools such as Signavio or Visio.
- A deep understanding of operational procedures, particularly in logistics or transport.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- Lean certification and project management qualifications are a plus.
- Experience in the heavy vehicle transport or logistics industry is highly valued.
