General Function:
Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in carrying out his/her duties. Manage and delegate responsibilities to all setup personnel. Motivate and develop subordinates to the highest level of their capabilities.

Productivity:
Ensure productivity of department in conjunction with Shift Leader(s).
Purchasing:
Follow documented procedures and spending limits
Specific Duties:
- Developing and optimizing plastic and robotic extraction processes and documenting Moulding Data Records and Cell Layouts in master part file
- Developing / enhancing the capability of all set-up and processing staff
- Administering the training program for new set-up technicians including maintaining and updating Set-up Training Manual to reflect current equipment and best practices
- Evaluating the performance of set-up technicians, grading their capability, participating in annual and probationary performance appraisals and disciplinary action as required
- Managing the priorities of the set-up department in conjunction with Shift Leader(s) and Plant Manager
- Coordinating, completing, and documenting all new part trial production runs (including Moulding Data Records and SR&ED required documents)
- Participating in equipment Pre-Start Health and Safety reviews evaluating safety and lockout procedures
- Ensure set-up personnel have the necessary resources to complete their work safety and efficiently
- Troubleshooting processes where other set-up technicians are having difficulty
- Evaluating and documenting all process changes and ensuring there is no negative dimensional or cosmetic impact
- Updating Bills of Materials to reflect production reality and explain reasoning to management as required
- Participating in Non-Conformance, Scrap, Continuous Improvement, and Regrind Management meetings
- Working with sales team to develop target production cycles, tonnages, tooling strategies, shrinkage rates, auxiliary equipment, etc. to support new program development
- Evaluating the production processes of part first trials and provide suggestions to achieve dimensional and productivity goals
- Answering Machine Alarms as required
- Developing departmental “lean” projects and implementing our 6S program
- Ensuring all company procedures are being adhered to
- Performing incident investigations on all set-up related issues
- Other duties as assigned by President, VP Operations, VP Sales, or Plant Manger
Process Leader - Basic Requirements
Must have/know the following:
· Lift Truck Certificate (in house)
· Crane Certificate (in house)
· Quality Assurance – ISO Training (in house)
· Lockout Training (in house)
· Fire Extinguisher Training (in house)
· WHMIS Training
· Effective Supervision
· Accident Investigation
· 3 years as a set up technician
· Working knowledge of CAD, mold flow analysis, gate, and texturing
· Knowledge of tool design (mechanical and electrical)
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
