Ohshima Ireland is currently seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our growing team based in our facility in Shannon, Co. Clare. This organisation has worldwide expertise but also a local presence within our specialized field. This will be a key role in the company and requires someone coming from a fast-paced multi-national company background.
Core Responsibilities
Manage procurement of non-stock orders, ensuring alignment with budget constraints, customer requirements, and factory needs; determine optimal quantity, type, range, and quality of goods or services required.
Manage the expediting of purchase orders, coordinating timely delivery to meet lead times for both direct and indirect PO’s.
Monitor and manage MRP data, ensuring precise alignment of purchase orders with delivery schedules
Lead quotation processes for non-stock requirements, negotiating optimal pricing and terms to benefit the organisation.
Ensure prompt issuance and placement of purchase orders, proactively managing supplier relationships to guarantee on-time deliveries
Maintain and support accurate master data within the Access Supply Chain system, ensuring data integrity for efficient operations.
Provide strategic support to the purchasing team on daily tasks and operational priorities as required.
Serve as a key resource for the procurement team, stepping in to cover responsibilities as needed to maintain continuity and support.
Skills and Qualifications
A relevant qualification in business administration, supply chain management, or procurement (Diploma/Degree preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with procurement or ERP software is beneficial
Excellent data management skills and attention to detail.
Personal Skills:
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry standards.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
