Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Produce Prep Associate to join our Produce Departmnet. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging fresh produce for retail display while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety. The ideal candidate who is passionate about fresh, quality produce and posses execellent attention to detail and knife skills.
Job Structure
This is a full-time hourly wage position. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as required. Paid vacation accrual at 4%. Benefits are available after 6 months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, dice, and portion fruits and vegetables for display and sale.
- Package, label, and date products in accordance with store guidelines.
- Ensure the freshness and visual appeal of all prepared produce.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or quality issues.
- Rotate products using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, following all food safety and health regulations.
- Assist with restocking and merchandising produce displays as needed.
- Provide friendly and helpful service to customers with questions or requests related to produce.
- Comply with all safety procedures, including proper knife handling and use of equipment.
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in produce preparation.
- Excellent knife skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $17.20 per hour
