Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Listing & Sales Specialist to join our team in Paris, Tennessee.

This is a hands-on role that combines inventory preparation, research, product content creation, customer communication, and direct sales support. The ideal candidate is passionate about military surplus and has a strong foundational knowledge of U.S. military weapons, equipment, and ordnance.

This position also offers growth into sales department leadership for the right individual who demonstrates initiative, strong product knowledge, and management potential.

Core ResponsibilitiesProduct Identification & Listing

  • Properly identify military surplus and inert ordnance items.
  • Clean and prepare inventory for sale.
  • Photograph and video inventory to professional standards.
  • Edit photos and videos for website and online sales platforms.
  • Conduct technical and historical research.
  • Write accurate, detailed product descriptions.
  • Create and manage listings on Ordnance.com and other online marketplaces.

Sales Support & Direct Sales

  • Make outbound sales calls to potential buyers.
  • Speak with customers by phone regarding inventory.
  • Assist with direct sales opportunities.
  • Build relationships with collectors, vendors, and institutions.
  • Travel to trade shows and industry events.

Growth & Leadership Development

  • Learn sales department workflows and management processes.
  • Develop skills needed to oversee personnel and sales operations.
  • Participate in regular meetings with management to provide updates and feedback.
  • Opportunity to grow into a lead or management role.

Warehouse & Inventory Operations

  • Assist with moving inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Regular forklift use required (training available if needed).

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interest in U.S. military weapons, ordnance, and surplus.
  • Moderate computer and internet proficiency.
  • Comfortable with photography, basic editing, and online platforms.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers by phone.
  • Able to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and carry 50–80 pounds.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Compensation

Base Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Direct Sales Commission:

  • 2.5% after 90 days
  • 3% after 120 days
  • 4% after one year

Commission applies only to direct sales personally initiated and closed by the employee.

There is no commission on e-commerce sales or inbound customer inquiries.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass criminal background checks.
  • Must pass random interval drug testing.
  • Must be willing to travel for trade shows and vendor meetings.

Advancement Opportunity

We strongly prefer to promote from within. Candidates who demonstrate leadership, product expertise, and sales performance will be considered for advancement into department lead and management positions.

Pay: $23.50 - $29.50 per hour
