Product Manager - Cloud Foundations
Create real impact as Product Manager – Cloud Foundations
Join the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. At IAG, we’re driven to make the world a safer place – for our people, our customers, and our communities.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As Product Manager – Cloud Foundations, you’ll lead IAG’s foundational cloud platforms across AWS, GCP and Azure. This is a senior leadership role accountable for enabling secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud services across the enterprise. You’ll drive the roadmap for our cloud foundations, partner across cyber, architecture, engineering and business teams, and lead a high-performing group focused on reliability, scalability, automation and innovation.

This role goes beyond cloud operations—it’s about partnering with the business to create long-term value. You’ll bring strong consulting and stakeholder skills, balancing technical depth with business acumen and an empathetic, collaborative approach. From uplifting our cloud foundations to embedding Zero Trust and modern network patterns, you'll help shape the future of cloud at IAG.

You’ll also play a critical role in driving modernisation—leveraging automation, GenAI, and DevSecOps practices to create secure-by-default environments that meet regulatory requirements while enabling speed and scale. You’ll work objectively across multiple cloud vendors, helping us get the best from each platform, and guide engineering teams to focus on the work that matters.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and evolve our multi-cloud foundation services with a focus on security, performance, cost optimisation, and customer experience.
  • Shape and deliver a modernisation roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy.
  • Apply critical thinking to help engineering teams prioritise meaningful backlog items and improve delivery effectiveness.
  • Guide product decisions across technical, commercial, and operational dimensions.
  • Influence and support key programs such as cloud migration, cost transparency, Zero Trust security, and modern networking.
  • Drive automation through DevSecOps practices and explore the use of GenAI to modernise our cloud code base.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet regulatory obligations via secure-by-default patterns and controls.
  • Engage with stakeholders across cyber, architecture, delivery and finance to ensure alignment and momentum.
  • Build a strong, empowered team with clarity of purpose and shared accountability.

This is a permanent role that offers a flexible hybrid work model. We welcome applicants from Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

You’ll bring:
  • ~15+ years in technology, product or engineering leadership
  • Proven management of a technology product or P&L over $20m
  • Deep cloud experience across AWS, GCP or Azure (multi-cloud preferred)
  • Ability to work across cloud vendors and objectively leverage the strengths of each
  • Experience with IaaS, serverless, and container-based platforms in regulated environments
  • Strong consulting, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • A strategic, win/win mindset grounded in delivery
  • Commercial acumen, vendor management and contract oversight
  • Experience applying DevSecOps practices and exploring GenAI use cases
  • Comfort engaging from exec level through to engineers
  • Ability to guide engineering priorities through product-led thinking
  • Natural curiosity and a continuous learning mindset
  • Experience building high-performing teams and guiding complex change
