Surface Drilling Division within Mining Business Area is a world leading supplier of surface mining and construction equipment and related services. We are now looking for proactive Product Safety Engineer, for permanent position in Tampere, Finland.

Your mission
As Product Safety Engineer, you will be part of Surface Drilling R&D organization and responsible for ensuring Sandvik surface drill rigs comply with the safety requirements in each intended market area. You are required to work in close co-operation with various key stakeholders within Engineering, Sales Areas, Project Management, Product Line Management and Technical Services.
Your main responsibilities
Coordinate that risk assessments, functional safety analysis and product safety reviews are done in new product development (NPD) projects
Product safety incident management
Gather and follow market area specific and international safety requirements and standards
Develop and implement product safety processes for Surface Drilling Division
Safety-related customer documentation creation
Internal product safety trainings
Your background and what we value
You have a university education and Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science and work experience within product safety and liability. Experience in functional safety analysis is seen as an advantage. You enjoy working with people and bring strength in communication, collaboration, and presenting complex topics in a clear way. You have knowledge of machinery safety regulations, and familiarity with mining safety regulations is beneficial. You are comfortable balancing multiple objectives and activities and can prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. The role requires professional-level English skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
