LHLS is currently accepting Part Time applications for dedicated, quality-oriented PRODUCTION CANDIDATES to work process linens at our London facility. We are an essential service, and a leading, not-for-profit linen processing corporation. LHLS is southwestern Ontario’s premier laundry facility providing clean and fresh linen to support our partners in their mission of care.

Under supervision, the Operating Room Production worker is responsible for the inspection, de-linting, hand folding, stacking, assembling and wrapping of surgical linen in preparation for sterilization.

Training will be Monday to Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm or Monday - Friday 3:30pm-12:00 am. Must be available for 40 hours a week for training, must be able to commit to working either AM or PM shifts during training (120 hours)

Availability Requirements:

• Required to work every Saturday and Sunday (9:00AM to 5:30PM)
• Statutory Holidays (Either 6:30AM - 3:00PM or 3:30PM - 12:00AM)
• A Monday and or Friday (Either 6:30AM - 3:00PM or 3:30PM - 12:00AM)
• Any additional availability is a bonus

* This is a unionized position therefore, wage increases are set at various hours worked intervals as per the collective agreement.

Responsibilities

• Removes lint from linen and folds items using the prescribed methodology.
• Inspection of various operating room linens for holes, sticky residue, loose threads, hard stains, loose ties, loose patches, any and all defects.
• Ensures quality processing and assembly of packs using the prescribed methodology.
• Assembles linen packs using the proper quantities of each item and the correct wrapper based on the size of the pack in preparation for sterilization.
• Prepares packs for loading for sterilization, load and start sterilization process.
• Computer use including data entry and scanning of product
• Maintains an orderly, lint-free work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications

• Great track record of attendance
• Availability to work every Saturday, Sunday, Statutory Holidays, and a Monday and or Friday
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs, stand for 9 hours a day, and repetitive movements
• 1-2 professional references
• No previous work experience is required-- If you’re willing to learn, we’re willing to teach you (previous experiences in quality control or lab environments are an asset).
