Production Manager

Blue Diamond Industries is in search of a Production Manager for its Clinton, SC plant. This is a full-time, permanent position that will manage production schedules, oversee production processes and ensure that the required materials are selected and purchased. Production Manager is also responsible for ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly, and that health and safety protocols are adhered to. This is a working Production Manager position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day production of four production shifts and ensuring operations are in sync with the strategy of the Company.
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Develop and enhance stronger processes for predicting and measuring performance within the manufacturing operations.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes based on KPI’s and make production planning/scheduling changes to drive improvement.
• Take affirmative steps to ensure that all products produced are compliant with internal engineering specifications and quality standards in the most efficient manner possible.
• Recognize and take steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
• Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Specifications Required:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering or technical certifications will be considered a plus.
• Interpersonal skills, must be able to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.
• Superior leadership and team building skills with a demonstrated track record of leading teams to the achievement of superior results.
• Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
• Critical thinking skills, must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line.
• Time management, face production deadlines, shipping dates and more and must manage their time accordingly.
• The job holder must be prepared to work unsociable hours as and when required, and travel to meet with customers, job sites, manufacturing sites and other company employees

Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation:

• Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of times during a shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push and pull 50-100 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a factory setting.
