Job Summary:

  • To operate and monitor bakery production machinery to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of high-quality product.
  • The role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

  • Comply with all safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure your manager is informed of all safety hazards of which you become aware, so remedial action can be taken.
  • Wearing and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and clothing.
  • Accepting responsibility for the safety of ourselves, other employees and all other people affected by our service. Ensure that your activities do not put people at risk.
  • Attend regular and quality training to stay informed of best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with the law and any procedures, policies designed to ensure a safe place of work including drug and alcohol policies.

Quality

  • Adhere to the company’s quality standards by inspecting materials and products at various stages of production.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace to support quality and safety.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor complex bakery machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure consistent product quality by following recipes, specifications, and quality control standards.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and report any issues or deviations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Participate in training and development activities to build skills and knowledge.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and operate complex machinery (training provided).
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in following procedures and identifying issues.

  • Problem-Solving: Able to identify and escalate issues promptly.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
