Old Country Sausages is a locally owned meat processing facility specializing in high-quality, traditional sausage and meat products. We take pride in craftsmanship, food safety, and maintaining a clean, efficient production environment. We are currently hiring reliable and hardworking Production / Sanitation Workers to join our team.
Position Summary:
This combined role supports both Production and Sanitation operations, ensuring safe, hygienic, and efficient processing of meat products. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and must be committed to high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities Production Duties:
- Participate as part of a team to process air dried and refrigerated meat products including pork and beef.
- Unbag, prepare, and inspect raw meat products for quality.
- Accurately measure, weigh, and mix spices and ingredients according to recipes.
- Operate grinders, mixers, stuffers, slicers, and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform sausage stuffing, linking, hanging, and smoking procedures.
- Set up and monitor smokehouse programs, ensuring correct temperature, humidity, and cook cycles.
- Package, vacuum-seal, label, and date-code finished products with accuracy and compliance.
- Pack finished products for storage and/or shipment.
- Follow all hygienic and food-safety practices, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knife work and other manual production tasks as required.
Sanitation Duties
- Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and reassemble production equipment according to established procedures.
- Use high-pressure washing, sanitizing chemicals, and other cleaning tools safely.
- Clean production floors, drains, equipment surfaces, and facility areas to meet regulatory and company standards.
- Follow sanitation schedules and complete required checklists.
- Notify supervisors of any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns observed during cleaning.
- Comply with WHMIS, PPE requirements, chemical-handling procedures.
- Ensure equipment and work areas are properly set up for the next production shift.
- Operate scissor lifts (if certified).
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, food production, or meat processing (asset).
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures or food-processing cleanup (asset).
- Ability to work in varying conditions: cool, warm, wet, or dry environments.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 27 kg (60 lbs).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail with a keen eye for cleanliness and food safety.
- Mechanical aptitude for assembling and dismantling equipment.
- Willingness and flexibility to work off shifts and/or weekends (primarily for sanitation duties).
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Pay rate based on experience.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
