Production Setup Operator - Manufacturing (No Students)

DBG Canada Limited is a growth-oriented, dynamic company and innovative leader in the manufacture and supply of high quality metal stampings and fabrication to the Heavy Truck, Automotive, Military, Agriculture and Consumer & Industrial industries and we are looking for individuals to join our team!

We are looking for Production Operators to join our team at Dixie/401 in Mississauga.

Day Shift 7am to 3:30pm

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping.
  • Adhere to normal start up procedures (ie compressors, checking oil, lubrication, checking equipment and auxiliary).
  • Ensure set-up and tear-down procedures are followed to maximize safety and quality.
  • Operate equipment and maintain production standards while producing good quality parts.
  • Responsible to supply die set-up information and accurate record keeping as required.
  • Responsible for set-up tool and equipment inventory.
  • Obtain the first-off and last-off approvals from authorized person i.e. Team Leader, QA Engineer, Toolmaker
  • Troubleshoot as required to get the equipment up and running as soon as possible. Know when to seek outside assistance ( ie Maintenance/Toolroom). A minimum of 200 to 500 progressive pcs & 25 - 50 hand transfer will constitute an approved set up.
  • Initiate all paper work in reference to active process.
  • Suggest Engineering changes (ie. ergonomic, process development).
  • Work to schedule of requirements as per the Zone Team Leader, QDC Coordinator or QDC Team Leader
  • Participate in the QDC Program when time allows as scheduled by Plant Manger and Team Leaders
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stretching, sitting, standing inside and outside in various temperatures.
  • Must adhere to all safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be familiar with and clearly understand all Press and Auxiliary Equipment functions.
  • Work in an efficient and safe manner to ensure high productivity, good quality with improved profits
  • Learn as much as possible with respect to quality Awareness and Product Knowledge.
  • Some material handling may be required ( i.e. pump truck, lift truck, crane - starting or loading coils)
  • Responsible to report all known errors to Team Leader or Management for corrective actions or guidance.
  • Work as a Team Member in all situations.
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain quality charts, ensure accurate scrap and production reporting as required
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stretching, sitting, standing inside and outside in various temperatures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1-2 Years experience in Press Operation in a similar environment
  • Tow Motor License and Crane Operator License, can be acquired through Internac training
  • General understanding of Die functions and mechanics
  • Die protection experience is an asset or must be acquired thru on the job training

  • crane operating: 1 year (preferred)
  • die change: 1 year (required)
