Overview
Join our dynamic sign manufacturing team as a Production Specialist and become a vital part of our innovative production process! The production specialist is required to perform many functions within the center, including, but not limited to, pre-press and physical production of signs, operating a wide variety of equipment, moving boxes and equipment, operating computers and computerized equipment, following instructions from supervisors, and communicating effectively with other team members. Responsibilities

• Manufacture signs using a variety of techniques including:
• Follow a layout to place computer cut vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application. This may include cutting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image.
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces.
• Prepare and precheck customer files in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Make basic graphic design adjustments when needed.
• Learn to operate & maintain the roll-to-roll printer, a plotter, and a cold laminator.
• Operate heat press machines for apparel and specialty print jobs.
• Communicate clearly about order issues, delays, mistakes, or questions.
• Manage materials carefully to reduce waste and avoid unnecessary reprints.
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards.
• Perform installations at customer locations or other off-site locations as necessary.
• Communicate with other employees and customers in a calm and professional manner.
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the Franchisee.
• Help unload and store raw materials; clean and maintain storage areas.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Serve as back up for graphic designer as necessary.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
• Participate in and practice the brand mentality of “Everybody Sells”. Constantly be looking for sales opportunities for the center.
• Serve as a backup for answering the phone if the franchisee, and sales/service employees are busy assisting other customers. Assist at the front counter as needed.
• Understand the sales process enough to consult with customers to determine project needs and solutions.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high quality work.
• Ability to use light power equipment.
• Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
• Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
• Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
• Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Driver's License (Required)
• 1+ year of sign production experience preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Software Knowledge - Adobe Illustrator, Onyx, Rasterlink, Fine Cut - preferred
• Adaptability: Seamlessly switches between tasks, machinery, and processes, ensuring efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
• Critical Thinking: Works independently with minimal supervision, solving complex problems where guidelines are limited.
• Commercial print environment experience preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
