Position: Finishing Technician (Night Shift)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Production Technician I – Finishing Technician is performing tasks in various production areas, including operating finishing, boiler, and scouring units to meet production goals and maintain product quality. This role involves performing machine setup, conducting inspections, and ensuring equipment operates according to internal specifications. Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 12:15am – 8:15am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor Finishing, Boiler, and Scouring units in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform machine setup, ensuring correct settings for speed, pressure, and temperature as per internal specifications.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of the finishing unit and perform continuous monitoring for malfunctions.
  • Execute Emergency Stop procedures in case of machine malfunctions and perform necessary clean-ups.
  • Mix and apply finishing chemicals according to internal specifications.
  • Tag, skid, and prepare finished products for further processing or shipping, following proper identification and tracking procedures.
  • Operate sewing machines and participate in sample making as required.
  • Ensure effective communication with other finishing operators and maintain adherence to 5S principles.
  • Identify and remove defective products, informing the Team Lead of any issues.
  • Work in accordance with Quality System to meet customer requirements and eliminate non-conforming products and services.
  • Work in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies to meet customer requirements and eliminate workplace injuries and accidents.
  • Complete production paperwork, data entry, and participate in safety meetings.
  • Read and respond to emails.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Clean, safe environment with high noise levels and varying temperatures.
  • General housekeeping and the ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Grade 12 or GED
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work as a part of a team.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
