Scope of Work

Job Summary

The Program & Data Analyst is responsible for managing data operations and analytics to support the execution and coordination of programs and ecosystem-building activities designed to help technology startups and entrepreneurs grow. This role serves as the data steward for Bounce’s programming, performing the collection, verification, analysis and reporting of performance metrics, key information and the maintenance of information systems. The Program & Data Analyst is responsible for helping the Bounce team gather and interpret data, formulate reports, manage reporting tools, and make recommendations based upon findings. The position works closely with internal stakeholders across the organization as well as clients and external partners to ensure data-driven approaches support Bounce’s mission. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Programming.

Job Duties:

Data Collection & Quality Assurance

  • Manage the collection and storage of data across multiple sources, including CRMs, spreadsheets, survey systems, and unstructured documentation
  • Confirm and maintain the accuracy of data storage by comparing across documentation, verifying with a variety of resources, and designating a SSOT
  • Oversee and support key data entry processes performed by Bounce team members into Programming’s managed systems
  • Continually improve data pipelines through streamlining and process automation
  • Clean and preprocess data to prepare for advanced analysis or broader usage
  • Maintain the information quality in a shared grant-network Salesforce

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Fulfill routine metrics reporting and serve as point of reference for Bounce data
  • Provide research support for Bounce marketing publications and events, grant writing for RFP responses, and other internal needs as requested
  • Manage metric definitions and semantics that may differ across audiences (i.e., multiple grant funders, internal reporting, marketing materials)
  • Develop and implement data models to identify patterns, trends, and insights within data, with a focus on driving actionable improvements
  • Interpret complex findings into meaningful summaries that communicate clearly to target audiences, using both written text and visualizations as appropriate
  • Be the main caretaker and POC for a shared CRM system across the organization’s departments

Measuring Program Outcomes and Effectiveness

  • Design, maintain, and administer regular surveys for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of program offerings
  • Manage the administration of a semi-annual client survey process, involving frequent collaboration with network partners
  • Review survey data for clarity and consistency, and report to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify actionable survey data, including both individual instances of feedback and larger patterns, and present to team to coordinate a response
  • In addition to routine reporting of pre-defined metrics, seek out innovative ways of quantifying or highlighting the impact and value of Bounce program offerings

Supporting Operations of Program Team

  • Maintain strong understanding of day-to-day operations of program offerings and team processes and provide support as needed
  • Maintain and improve technical systems used for program administration, project management, and grant reporting fulfillment
  • Create and administer client forms, program applications, and other project-specific data collection needs
  • Build strong relationships with internal program team, Bounce team, Bounce contractors, and external network partners to maintain involvement in the highly collaborative aspects of program operations
  • Support program team’s management and oversight of key contractors and external connections by providing administrative and technical support
  • Establish and maintain connections with data leads in partner organizations such as Summit County, JumpStart, MAGNET, GAC, etc.

Contributing to Data Strategy

  • Advocate for data-driven decision making in program design and organizational strategy
  • Review, refine, and recommend specific metrics usage as needed
  • Bring a highly analytical perspective and investigative mindset to team discussions and collaborative decision making
  • Support efforts to improve data usage and efficiency across the team

Misc. Duties

  • Serve as an ambassador of Bounce and associated programs
  • Build and maintain positive and effective relationships with program participants, guest speakers, mentors, and other network stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned – we’re a small team; we all pitch in!

Skills & Qualifications:

Required

  • Experience in statistical analysis and data interpretation
  • Proficiency with data management systems
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools
  • Highly analytical mindset and desire to ask insightful questions
  • Balanced approach of systems level thinking and detail-oriented execution
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent and adaptable communication skills, including data storytelling abilities
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter while maintaining collaborative approach
  • Founder-first mindset and a commitment to the mission and values of Bounce
  • Excellent customer service skills and outgoing, friendly personality

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, business, economics, or a related field preferred. Candidate in other majors who can demonstrate experience in data analysis or information management are also encouraged to apply
  • Startup business knowledge or experience, particularly experience working for an entrepreneurial support organization (ESO)
  • Experience with CRMs
  • Experience with survey design/administration
  • Creativity and desire to collaborate in a creative environment
  • Non-profit experience, particularly involving grant reporting and compliance, is a plus
  • Knowledge of or interest in learning data-centric programming languages (e.g., Python, R, M, SQL) a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to spend significant time sitting, standing, and walking
  • Flexible schedule that may include evening work periodically to attend/host events

Salary for this position is $55,000.00 per year.
