Located at the Saint Samuel Center in Harrisburg, Evergreen House provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for women recovering from the disease of addition.
This Program Director is responsible for all drug and alcohol program operations including planning, implementing, supervising, staffing, and administrative and some clinical duties. This position requires external coordination with referral sources and program related community-based groups.
Develop policies and procedures for licensing and funding; submit payroll, billing, and other reports in a timely manner; report and monitor goals, objectives, and program outcomes; supervise staff including interviewing, hiring, orientating, coordinating training requirements for clinical and non-clinical staff; schedule and provide 24 hour staff coverage including on-call services, as needed; design and adhere to budget planning; and conduct staff meetings, evaluations and conflict resolution.
Lead clinical team by facilitating treatment team meetings, assuring chart order and requirements, and completing clinical consultations; meet state and county clinical regulations; maintain caring and safe therapeutic environment by implementing and refining long-term structure drug and alcohol treatment; provide clinical supervision and resolve client related conflicts; safeguard clinical information and make sure all staff adheres to confidentiality regulations.
Attend community events, meetings, and discussions promoting the program; present information to the public reaching the targeted population; keeping good communication with external and internal resources; generate referrals to sustain the program.
The Program Director will supervise clinical and non-clinical staff (full-time and part-time employees).

Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing will be required. The majority of the workday will include high levels of walking, climbing steps, pacing, standing, and driving. There will be sitting occasionally. Sudden and loud noises can be heard throughout the day. fast-paced environment, with high levels of distractions and multitasking. Must have an eye for detail, ability to stay on track, and follow a typed or written schedule and checklist.
Master’s Degree in related field with 2 years' experience in a human service agency including supervision, direct service and program planning. Must include one year of clinical experience in chemical dependency treatment working with recovering women or bachelor’s degree in related field with 3 years' experience in a human service agency including supervision, direct service and program planning. Must include one year of clinical experience in chemical dependency treatment working with recovering women or Associate degree in related field with 4 years' experience in a human service agency including supervision, direct service and program planning. Must include one year of clinical experience in chemical dependency treatment working with recovering women.
Knowledge of chemical dependency treatment, knowledge of women and children’s issues in treatment, if recovering, two years of uninterrupted sobriety.
Valid PA State License with a clean driving record, State Police and Child Line Clearances, FBI Clearances, Diocesan Youth Protection Training, Adequate Automobile Insurance According to Policy. Documentation by licensed physician of fitness to work. CADC/CCDP Certification or eligible, preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification (Can be obtained while employed).
