About the Role:
The Multicultural Planning, Evaluation, and Communications Program Lead will drive the development and implementation of effective planning, evaluation, and communication strategies within the Multicultural and Refugee Health Service. In this role, you will focus on evaluating programs, communicating outcomes, and advocating for policy changes that enhance healthcare access for diverse populations, all while incorporating trauma-informed care principles in your planning and evaluation activities.

You will also be responsible for creating and implementing essential change management tools, such as communication plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and readiness assessments, and ensuring the successful delivery of programs and projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with staff and managers throughout Hunter New England to enhance the District’s policies, procedures and guidelines to better support patients from multicultural, refugee, and Deaf communities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhance the education and training by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions to improve interpreter usage, trauma informed care, and cultural competence of our workforce.
  • Design: Aid facility planners and service managers in their development of way finding and communication for multicultural, refugee, and Deaf patients and clients.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilise data and insights to help staff understand barriers to access, communication and equitable health outcomes by Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, while sharing outcomes and successes to improve all services.
  • Project Management: manage multiple evaluation projects, covering a range of clinical specialities at micro and macro levels, to map changes and improvements throughout the District.


About You:

  • You passionately understand the barriers faced by multicultural, refugee and Deaf patients and their families in accessing health care.
  • You are committed to improving the health care system.

  • You are a critical thinker and problem solver, solution-oriented with strong change management skills.
  • You excel at bringing people together, fostering an environment of trust, collaboration, and productivity.
  • You have experience in working in education delivery, grant writing, research, and evaluation.


Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or significant experience within the health care environment.
  • Experience and a record of achievement in leading policy development, service and project planning, evaluation, and communication strategies.
  • Current NSW drivers' licence, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
