About us:
DASCH is a non-profit organization established in 1974 dedicated to exploring and meeting the residential, day program, respite and foster care needs of youth and adults. All our programs are based in Winnipeg. Our residential program consists of over 50 homes, our day services program consists of two community-based day programs and our vocational and supported employment program, DASCHWorks which supports people in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. People can participate in personalized social, educational, vocational and recreational services that provide learning opportunities and greater independence. Position Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for maintaining comprehensive quality program delivery as well as supervising and assisting locations in their daily responsibilities. This position requires a highly motivated individual experienced in program support, management, and leadership. The Program Manager will have considerable contact with family, government, and professional services. A Program Manager is an extroverted multitasker, who works well under pressure, and displays leadership by motivating others. A requirement of the role is participation in an on-call rotation.
Work Hours:
- Full Time
- Monday to Friday
- Must be able to flex work hours based on position needs
- On-call rotation with additional remuneration (average of $1,800 per year)
Starting Salary: $56,160 per year (pay scale depending on experience)

Skills & Qualifications:
- University degree in a related discipline and/or Certificate in Community and Disability Support with a minimum of three years related leadership, management experience and/or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Full Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a vehicle for employment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Sound knowledge of intellectual disabilities and experience working in the field.
- Ability to be proactive and delegate tasks.
- Demonstrate empathetic and enthusiastic characteristics, quickly establishing connections.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide program support and direction to location supervisors and direct support workers in all areas of quality individual care.
- Conduct and attend meetings regularly.
- Regularly review and evaluate care plans such as activity plans, menus, etc.
- Maintain Programming case files.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Complete location reviews and audits regularly.
- Provide on-call support as directed by your supervisor and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Conduct performance management activities, including performance monitoring, coaching, counseling, and the preparation of performance appraisals, annually and as required.
- Ensure compliance to DASCH policies, licensing, and employment standards.
- Provide leadership to create a respectful working environment conducive to effective working relationships.
- Apply conflict resolution skills to successfully mediate workplace conflict issues.
- Ensure safety compliance, safe working conditions, safe procedures and practices and adherence to them as set out in The Workplace Safety and Health Act.
