Job Description

SAF International is seeking a highly committed, mission-driven, and organized Program Operations Coordinator to support and oversee community development and Panthic initiatives across India and Panjab.

This role is ideal for someone deeply connected to the Sikh Panth and passionate about seva, humanitarian work, and community upliftment. The successful candidate will help coordinate field projects, support operational planning, strengthen communication between Canada and South Asia teams, and ensure projects are carried out effectively and with accountability.

The nature of this role requires flexibility, regular evening and weekend work, and periodic travel to South Asia.

SAF International is a Canadian nonprofit organization focused on uplifting underserved communities through education, humanitarian aid, healthcare initiatives, Panthic awareness, and long-term community development projects across South Asia.

Position Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate and support ongoing projects across India and Panjab.
  • Maintain regular communication with field teams, partners, and project coordinators.
  • Help track project progress, operational needs, and timelines.
  • Assist with reporting, documentation, and program accountability.
  • Support logistics related to project implementation and field activities.

Field & Community Engagement

  • Travel periodically to South Asia to visit project sites and support local teams.
  • Build relationships with local communities, leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Help represent SAF International within Panthic and community settings.

Organizational Support

  • Assist leadership with operational planning and project management.
  • Support special initiatives, campaigns, and humanitarian responses.
  • Participate in meetings, community events, and organizational activities during evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Priority will be given to:

  • Amritdhari Singhs
  • Candidates with a degree in:
  • International Development, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Business Administration, Community Development or related fields
  • Candidates with significant hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, humanitarian work, Panthic organizations, or international project coordination

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams across countries and cultures
  • Ability to travel internationally when required
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work
  • Punjabi language proficiency is a strong asset

Additional Assets

  • Experience working in India or South Asia
  • Familiarity with Sikh institutions and Panthic organizations
  • Experience with reporting systems, spreadsheets, and operational tracking
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally

Work Environment

This role is mission-focused and requires someone who is adaptable, proactive, and spiritually aligned with the values and vision of SAF International. The position may involve fast-paced coordination, field challenges, and dynamic scheduling based on project needs.
