About the Role:
Due to significant growth within our business we have opened a new position within the company. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for developing and preparing Project Controls deliverables for the assigned project aswell as schedule, cost and Earned-Value reporting. This position reports directly to the Project Manager, and regularly collaborates with Middle and Senior Management within the organisation to delivery an exciting fast paced renewables energy project locally within the Gladstone region.

- Bulk Earthworks
- Detailed Earthworks
- Underground services (including Electrical, HDPE, Earthing)
- Structural Concrete encompassing complicated reinforcement and formwork

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the project meets time, cost, quality, risk, environmental, and safety standards as specified by stakeholders.
- Develop and uphold project control systems for scheduling, cost control, quality management, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Project Lead and work stream leads to assess and secure necessary resources promptly.
- Establish and maintain project team budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee risk management activities and maintain the project risk register as per the program's Risk Management Framework.
- Develop and keep project management and controls plans current throughout each project phase.
- Lead and coordinate project reviews, and internal audits.
- Ensure the project's scheduling and cost control functions are maintained.
- Provide information for monitoring and reporting project performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Notify the project management team early about any adverse cost and time impacts or trends, issues, delays, or contractual difficulties that could impact the project.
- Record and authorise all changes and variations to the agreed budget.
- Collate and manage capital cost estimates.
About You
- An intimate knowledge of Primavera P6 and Earned Value principals
- Extensive civil construction experience and planning acumen
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively identify and solve the complex problems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced MS Excel and Database skills
- Mentally agile and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated business partnering skills with the ability to influence the organization
- Adaptability and agility to learn and contribute in varying and complex environments
- Exceptional communication and presentation skill, both written and verbal
- Proactively embrace and promote the company’s values and culture, including diversity & inclusion and a healthy and safe work environment
